There is no story, campaign, or character progression; the theme is limited to resolving competition over cards through sword fights. Creating the Card Piles

Each participant receives one face-up card at the beginning. The remaining deck becomes a draw pile, and one person takes the role of Fight Boss. This player draws two more cards than the number of participants and divides them into several face-up piles. The piles do not need to contain equal numbers of cards. The Fight Boss may arrange them to create safe choices, useful color combinations, or groups that several opponents are likely to want.

Selecting Cards at the Same Time

After examining the available piles, everyone raises a finger and points to one pile after the Fight Boss completes a countdown. A player who selects a pile alone collects every card in it without fighting. Cards from unselected piles are discarded. If several participants point to the same pile, a duel determines who receives it. Only one sword fight is held during each round, even when multiple piles have competing claimants.

A duel follows several rules:

  • The Fight Boss selects two fighters if more than two players chose the pile.
  • Both fighters must obey every instruction printed on the contested cards.
  • Some restrictions apply for the entire fight or only at the beginning.
  • Certain effects activate whenever a sword touches an object.
  • Black cards provide an advantage to the shorter participant.
  • A valid hit must land on the torso between the shoulders and waist.
  • Breaking a card instruction causes an immediate loss.
  • Simultaneous hits reset the duel.

Completing Sets Through Duels

The winner places the contested cards face up in front of them, while the loser receives nothing. All collected cards remain visible, allowing opponents to see which colors are close to forming sets. After every pile has been collected or discarded, the Fight Boss role moves to the player on the left. New cards are drawn and arranged, beginning another selection round with different fighting conditions.

Let’s Hit Each Other with Fake Swords has no levels, maps, upgrades, or elimination stages. Progress is represented by visible card sets. The first player to collect three groups of three matching colors wins immediately. If multiple players reach the goal at the same time, a final sword fight decides the result. Effective play involves evaluating color needs, predicting which piles opponents will choose, and determining whether a useful pile is worth a duel. Players should also clear enough space before fighting and use controlled movements with the foam swords.
