The player returns to the house after completing each stage. This hub shows which rooms are available and which areas remain blocked by Conrad and Sally. Progress through the existing levels gradually opens the kitchen, garage, upstairs rooms, and other locations. When every magic cluster in a world has been collected, its related part of the house returns to normal.
The Cat uses standard platforming actions alongside abilities connected to his umbrella. He can jump onto ledges, glide over wide spaces, and slam downward to attack enemies or break certain objects. Bubble capture provides a ranged option. Enemies and explosive goo placed inside bubbles can be thrown at obstacles, switches, or other creatures blocking the route.
Important objects found during exploration are:
Ten main levels form the central campaign, with boss encounters and bonus content placed between or within them. Each stage uses its own layout of platforms, moving hazards, enemies, and secret paths. Players do not need every collectible to reach an exit, but incomplete levels can be revisited from the hub. Collecting all gems unlocks Mystical Mirror, a secret stage intended for players who complete every bonus-door challenge.
The Cat has a limited health supply and a separate number of lives. Touching an enemy, projectile, or environmental hazard removes health, while falling into a bottomless area costs a life immediately. Cupcakes and hearts help maintain both resources. Checkpoints save the current position inside a stage, although losing all lives requires restarting it. Quinn appears in boss battles inside a protected machine. The player must study its attack pattern, avoid incoming objects, and wait until the exhaust becomes vulnerable. A suitable bubble projectile can then be launched into the opening. Repeating this process defeats the machine and awards a Crablock component. Searching below platforms and above the main route is useful because several keys and magic clusters are placed outside the most obvious path.
