Feed The Pit is a linear investigative horror game about locating targets, using limited information, and surviving hostile encounters. The player works under the influence of The Pit and is sent into Carrister Valley to find wealthy individuals marked for death. The game is structured as a story campaign, with Act 1 available at launch and Acts 2 and 3 planned as free updates after release.
The story involves E.C.C., a group that follows The Pit and describes its mission as part of a larger transformation. The player is brought into this circle and receives assignments connected to murder, belief, and control. The plot is not limited to separate hunts, because the game includes a branching story. This means decisions may influence how the player’s role in E.C.C. develops and how the events connected to The Pit continue.
The main gameplay system is based on magical cards. Each card asks a question about the target’s position somewhere in Carrister Valley. The player uses the answers to remove wrong locations from the map. The objective is to narrow the search until only one valid location remains. Since the hand of cards is limited, the player has to think about which questions will provide the most useful information.
The game contains several main systems:
· act-based story progression;
· Act 1 available at launch;
· Acts 2 and 3 planned as free updates;
· investigations in Carrister Valley;
· magical cards used to reduce possible locations;
· monsters that appear during missions;
· branching decisions tied to E.C.C. and The Pit.
Feed The Pit does not use a regular level format with simple numbered stages. The game is divided into acts and missions, and each mission gives the player a target, a map, a limited card hand, and a specific danger. The investigation can change depending on the available cards and the information revealed during the search. Because of this, the player must adjust the approach instead of repeating the same solution every time.
Each mission includes a monster that follows its own behavior pattern. The player does not know all of its rules at the start, so observation is part of survival. Moving carelessly or choosing cards without a plan can make the investigation harder. To play effectively, the player needs to read card results, track the remaining locations, avoid unnecessary risks, and learn how each monster reacts while continuing to serve The Pit.
